I miss raspberry picking in New York. We can't do that here in our desert town. But, at the store last week they had six pints of raspberries for $12. We ate through the whole box and had to go back to get more three days in a row. Daddy barely got any at all. I usually like to eat them in a bowl, plain or with a little vanilla yogurt. I also love raspberry sorbet but I'd never made my own! I tasted it at Disney world and I really wanted to have some again. My mom helped me to find a recipe in the Joy of Cooking. It's easy and you'll love it if you're a big fan of raspberries, like me. We also added some key lime juice, but you could also use plain lime or lemon juice.
Raspberry Sorbet
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 cups raspberries
1 tablespoon lime juice
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Cool. Process berries in blender until smooth. Press through a sieve. Combine all ingredients in ice cream maker and process according to manufacturer's directions.

Dear Little Sailor:
I love raspberries. You are so fun and smart to share your raspberry sorbet experience with us all. I sure wish I could have some now. Wait, I think I saw some in the freezer. Yummm. I love you and can't wait to hear about your trip to the beach.
Love, Dad
Sailor,
We are going to have to get you to make us some when we come through town. I think if it is disguised as ice cream/sorbet, then I might actually be able to persuade Ivy or Reeve to eat it. WE hope you are having a great vacation. Love H
Dear Sailor,
YUM! YUM! I want to eat it with you. I like to play with you. I want to play dress up with you. I want to play Minnie Mouse with you. I want to play costumes with you. I want to do fun things at your house. I love you.
Love,
Annabelle

Sailor,
What yummy sorbet! I am gining you the "You make Me Smile" award!
Sailor,
That raspberry sorbet was such a great idea and looked like a yummy summer treat. I might have to get my mom to help me try it! Thanks for the idea.
Your blog is so cute and I will be visiting it many more times. My mom is KitchenKlique.blogspot.com - and maybe she will let me do a blog!
This was divine! We enjoyed it tremendously with the vanilla raspberry ice cream and a yummy peaches and cream cake.
